Job Description

The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of complex electrical systems across a variety of projects. This role provides technical leadership and expertise, overseeing the preparation of detailed design documentation, specifications, and reports to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
The Senior Electrical Engineer collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, civil, and mechanical engineers, to deliver integrated project solutions. This position mentors and guides junior engineers and design staff, reviews technical work for accuracy and quality, and supports the professional development of team members.
Additional responsibilities include managing project schedules and budgets, engaging with clients to understand project requirements, and providing strategic input during project planning and execution. The Senior Electrical Engineer also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives within the department by developing and refining engineering standards, processes, and best practices.

Job Description

  • Design and implementation of electrical systems for airport projects, Infrastructure, or building projects.
  • Manage electrical design for various infrastructure projects.
  • Oversee the design and implementation infrastructure for new developments.
  • Develop and maintain design documentation, specifications, and reports in accordance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and other multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into larger projects.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and design teams.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, local codes, and industry best practices.
  • Participate in client and project meetings, providing valuable input and insights.
  • Contribute to the growth of the Electrical department through the review and development of standards and templates.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is required, in good standing with a Canadian engineering regulator (i.e. PEO).
  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience designing and managing projects in Canada.
  • Strong understanding of applicable codes, standards, and regulations, including CEC and other local and international standards.
  • Experience in AutoCAD, and other electrical design software is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with both internal teams and external clients.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead and mentor teams.

Additional Skills and Experience (Preferred but not required):

  • Knowledge of sustainability initiatives and energy-efficient design practices.
  • Familiarity with airport systems.
