Lead Electrical Engineer
ACS is looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer to join our team. This great opportunity is open at our headquarters in Verona, WI or regional office in Troy, MI.
With 25 years of experience, ACS specializes in the engineering, integration and construction of technically complex R&D and production equipment, controls, and facilities. With a positive, collaborative company culture, we are proud to have been named a "Top Workplace" since 2019.
The Lead Electrical Engineer's role is to ensure the electrical needs of the client are addressed through proper design, construction, and start-up. This is accomplished through an understanding of the client's budget, schedule, design criteria, and project specific requirements. The individual will work with a team of engineers to execute project work to ensure the above is met. The engineer will work closely with both internal (other engineers, designers, project managers, coordinators, and our manufacturing and staff from our manufacturing facility) and external team members (clients and suppliers).
Basic requirements include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Industrial Electrical Systems design at a consulting engineering firm or a Design/Build Electrical Contractor.
  • PE License preferred.
  • Demonstrates engineering knowledge in 5 of the following areas: Power Systems, AC Drives, Lighting, Gas Detection, Fire Alarm, lighting control, and Lightning Protection Systems, including performing engineering calculations for the design of power and control systems.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to apply the National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA Codes.
  • Revit, SKM Power Tools, and lighting calculation software experience and proficiency
  • Experience and knowledge of power regeneration, medium voltage systems, and facility energy reduction is preferred.
  • Understands and plans equipment installation and start-up requirements.
  • Experience providing efficient and effective client service, including balancing multiple projects and responding to changes in deadline, scope, and design.
  • Demonstrates strong technical writing and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to travel to customer facilities with several overnight stays for design meetings, equipment installation supervision and commissioning.
  • Must have the following personal skills and characteristics: problem- solving skills, strong organizational and time management skills, team player, takes initiative to improve personal skills, strong interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively with all internal and external levels and groups.
