Job Title: PCB Design Engineer

Job Description

Design and develop complex multi-layer printed circuit boards with over 30 layers for aerospace and defense applications. You will create PCB layouts using Mentor Graphics and Allegro design tools. This role involves performing component placement, routing, stack-up definition, and design documentation for high-reliability electronic assemblies. Collaborate with various engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle to ensure that designs meet all necessary requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop complex multi-layer PCBs for aerospace and defense applications.
  • Create PCB layouts using Mentor Graphics and Allegro design tools.
  • Perform component placement, routing, stack-up definition, and design documentation.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineers.
  • Ensure designs meet electrical, mechanical, thermal, environmental, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews and support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot PCB design issues and support prototype builds and validation activities.
  • Ensure compliance with IPC standards, customer requirements, and aerospace/defense design guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain PCB documentation and release packages.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of professional PCB design and layout experience.
  • Expert-level experience with Mentor Graphics tools.
  • Proven experience designing complex multi-layer PCBs (30+ layers).
  • Strong understanding of PCB fabrication, assembly processes, and design best practices.
  • Experience supporting high-reliability electronics in Aerospace & Defense, Military, Avionics, or related industries.
  • Familiarity with IPC standards and industry design guidelines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in Fort Worth, TX, five days per week.
  • Must be eligible for a secret clearance due to program requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with high-speed digital, RF, mixed-signal, or power electronics designs.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD requirements and aerospace compliance standards.
  • Experience supporting prototype development, troubleshooting, and production transitions.
  • Knowledge of signal integrity, impedance control, and advanced PCB stack-up design.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.

Work Environment

The position requires working five days per week at our Engineering Center located in Fort Worth, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $73.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
