Job Summary:
In this role, you will plan, develop, and review electrical engineering design work, produce drawings and documentation, and prepare design estimates for a project. You will coordinate with clients, facilitate technical discussions, and review key electrical drawings, calculations, and bid summaries. You will solve complex technical issues and ensure electrical designs comply with all regulations and standards.
This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership. #LI-ME1
Major Responsibilities:
  • Leads or administers work of electrical designers and drafters for a business line technology to include the preparation of layouts, study drawings, detailed 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models, and construction drawings.
  • Supporting, coaching, and training less experienced designers.
  • Develops designs for complete and complex electrical engineering systems such as electrical rooms, equipment, cable tray, conduit, duct bank, and lighting with minimum supervision from which detailed scale models and/or construction drawings are completed.
  • Assists with coordination of 3D model activities, i.e. input, interference reconciliation, etc. with other physical related disciplines.
  • Works with designers in other disciplines to coordinate overall design and technical requirements.
  • Prepares or assists with the preparation of assigned material requisitions and bid evaluations.
  • Monitors and checks work for compliance with approved electrical design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation, and construction economy.
  • Participates in constructability reviews.
  • Prepares design and drafting procedures to standardize design effort.
  • Coordinates or makes jobsite visits, as required, to resolve problems and interpret drawings and documents.
  • Reviews electrical design scope changes, as required, for project management.
  • Ensures electrical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Knowledge & application of NEC code and NEMA/ANSI/IEEE and other industry standards.
  • Advanced experience using AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
  • Prior experience in modeling of electrical equipment, cable tray, and conduit.
  • Prior experience with an electronic Cable Management System, such as the SETROUTE program.
  • Prior experience supporting hyperscale data centers, semiconductor manufacturing, EV battery manufacturing, life sciences, or other high-reliability industrial facilities is preferred.
  • Prior experience in cable tray, raceway, lighting, and cable routing design.
  • Prior experience in bulk material quantity takeoffs.
  • Knowledge of electrical installation details and materials.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and layouts.
  • Ability to resolve design issues independently and collaboratively with other engineering disciplines, construction, and the client.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
