IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering New Grad in Columbia, SC to work closely with experienced engineers and consultants in delivering engineering solutions and advice that support positive client outcomes. This entry-level role offers hands-on design, analysis, and project execution experience, with mentorship, training, and opportunities to grow your expertise from day one.

In this role, you will assist with the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings while working within project budgets and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. You will support work across education and government/municipal projects, advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.

What You'll Do

  • Assist in the design and analysis of electrical systems, creating detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards
  • Support engineering analysis and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings
  • Interact with clients to gather project requirements and communicate technical information effectively
  • Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication
  • Work as part of a project team to support the execution of consulting projects
  • Assist in project planning and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlines and objectives

  • Participate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards and client requirements
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering, and contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG
  • Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work and identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systems
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals
