Job Summary
ECS is looking for an Electrical Project Engineer to work with the design team to support in the design of electrical power, lighting, data and technology systems with a focus on Educational and Government entities. This individual shall provide engineering support for energy conservation strategies and MEP construction projects working alongside an experienced Electrical Engineer. This position assists the team in solidifying complete solutions and provides clarity through design

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical load calculations on buildings for analysis.
  • Perform building audits, and analysis of existing systems.
  • Perform energy and operational analysis and system evaluations for optimizing solutions.
  • Perform field investigation for systems, layout, drawings, and new routing.
  • Perform the design of building Electrical support systems.
  • Size equipment through load calculations, selection software and vendor coordination.
  • Generate equipment selections and specifications.
  • Generate plans and perform drafting utilizing AutoCAD.
  • Perform lighting design layouts.
  • Develop and generate Details & Schedules.
  • Review submittals
  • Assist in performance of commissioning of project installations and control functionality.
  • Perform on-site installation inspections and attend construction meetings.
  • Perform punch out/job close out
  • Remain familiar with Codes and Standards and progressive industry designs.
  • Perform utility incentive paperwork for utility programs for projects benefiting from such programs.
  • Participate in design review meetings and consult with our project developers.
  • Assist the Project Development Engineers and estimator with budgeting and estimating of scopes of work.
  • Support construction management and internal project managers to assist in supporting the field during the construction of the project.
  • Support the sales team with events, reports and presentations to clients in a variety of closed door and public forums as needed.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate would have previous experience in Energy, Electrical Power and Lighting, and be able to conceptualize and carry out the design coordination and implementation of such systems.
  • Proficient use of AutoCAD, Word, Excel.
  • Experience with other system design software
  • This person should be self-motivated, innovative, competent, responsible, proficient, and organized.
  • This person should be personable and must work well in a team environment.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or similar accredited Engineering Technology program required.
  • Professional Licensing or Certifications strongly encouraged, but not required.
  • Intrastate travel required. Active driver license status a must.
  • Background in Design Build or Guaranteed Savings Projects a plus.
  • Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.
