Job description

Job Title - Avionics Electrical Design Engineer
Job Location - - Wichita, KS 
Hire type – Fulltime Role

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing engineering design support to XX XX Service Centers in support of complex aircraft alterations.   Manage small to large scale certification projects with responsibilities to include establishing systems design requirements, developing and presenting systems architecture concepts, completing systems design, and obtaining certification for the project.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare engineering drawings for avionics and electrical system interface wiring using computer based drafting tools (IAI HarnesSYS and/or CATIA/CCD)

Perform analysis requiring frequent application of engineering principles

Will utilize electronic test equipment to verify avionics and electrical systems meet design requirements and/or for system troubleshooting

Will write technical descriptions of subject matter pertinent to design or test requirements. (Descriptions of supplier parts, test or rigging specifications, etc.)

Prepare functional test documents for avionics and electrical systems

Prepare certification documentation including certification plans, ground and flight test plans and certification reports showing avionics and electrical systems compliance with 14 CFR Part 23/25

Will evaluate and analyze avionics and electrical system design for completion of function hazard assessments and system safety assessments

Qualifications - External

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree in:

Electrical Engineering

Computer Engineering

Electrical Engineering Technology

Other related Engineering field

Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience or relative Aviation technical or systems experience.

QUALIFICATONS:

Experience with avionics and electrical system design

Electronic drafting experience

Experience with CATIA V5 and VPM is preferred

Strong computer, written and verbal communication skills

Experience with use of electronic test equipment

Time management skills are required to work multiple concurrent projects of various size and scope

Experience with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint are required, Access and Project experience is desired
