Job description

We’re creating an entirely new way to solve the most ubiquitous problem in industry - moving and storing material. We’re applying robotics and distributed software to create a new class of product for this $1T market. We’re focused on the supply chain industry first. The industry is in a massive bind with the continued growth of e-commerce, sharp rise in costs, and supply chain disruptions. What has been a “sleepy” industry for decades is now at the epicenter of sustaining the global economy.

About the role:

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer who thrives in a multidisciplinary environment and can contribute across the full product lifecycle of our autonomous platform. This role is ideal for a hands‑on generalist who can move fluidly between design, testing, systems integration, and collaboration with cross‑functional teams including mechanical, firmware, manufacturing, and product management.

You'll own a critical piece of technology within our autonomous platforms. Our system covers all domains of electrical engineering, from power and motor actuation, wireless technology, sensing, compute, and safety systems. You'll lead development efforts with significant business impact, build key supplier and technology partnerships, and evaluate emerging technologies to drive capability differentiation. You will operate within the broader cross‑functional team to help define requirements and integrate solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and own the design, development, and validation of an electrical sub‑system within Mytra’s autonomous platform
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with mechanical, firmware, and manufacturing teams to deliver integrated solutions
  • Translate product requirements into electrical specifications and system architectures
  • Design schematics, select components, PCB layout, create validation test plan, and bring‑up plans with the firmware team
  • Conduct sub‑system to system‑level debugging, root cause analysis, and performance optimization
  • Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities (bench testing, environmental, compliance, etc.)
  • Drive design for manufacturability (DFM), reliability, and cost optimization efforts
  • Design for real‑world deployment: signal integrity, power delivery, EMI/EMC, ESD, thermal management, vibration, environmental hardening, manufacturability, and serviceability
  • Participate in supplier/vendor selection and technical evaluations as needed
  • Ensure documentation is thorough, accurate, and maintained throughout development cycles
Qualifications:
  • BS + 5 years of hands‑on hardware experience with demonstrated system ownership and technical leadership (MS + 4 years, PhD + 3 years)
  • A hands‑on senior electrical engineer that has owned a PCBA and shipped hardware
  • Broad experience across analog and digital design, power systems, and embedded interfaces (USB, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, LVDS, and PCIe)
  • PCB design, schematic capture, and layout (Altium preferred)
  • Proven ability to work across disciplines and communicate effectively with diverse teams
  • Work with ambiguous requirements, prototype solution/s, and present tradeoffs
  • Comfortable with basic lab equipment (Oscialloscopes, DMM, Power supplies, e‑loads, etc.)
  • Clear communicator who can explain tradeoffs and decisions without ego
  • Working in a startup environment with ambiguity in requirements
  • Taken a product though the FCC regulatory process
  • Comfortable with ARM processors and microcontrollers
  • EMI mitigation, signal integrity, and power system design
  • Integrating RF and sensors
  • Has worked in large complex system
  • Can see a larger system and understand integration challenges
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Robotics, mobile platforms, or autonomous systems experience
  • Embedded firmware experience (C/C++, bare‑metal or RTOS)
  • High‑reliability or functional safety design experience (ISO 26262, IEC 61508)
  • You've shipped hardware that had to survive outside the lab
A Final Note:

At Mytra, we build bots, but we hire humans. We value thoughtful challengers who communicate with clarity and respect, and we’re lifelong learners committed to getting better every day. We move fast, learn faster, and show up for each other under pressure. The best outcomes come from diverse perspectives working together to build something meaningful and built to last.

Benefits Include:
  • Competitive compensation and equity grants at a high‑growth company backed by top‑tier VCs
  • Fully subsidized health coverage, including medical (baseline plans), dental, and vision for employees and dependents
  • 401(k) plans and employer‑subsidized life insurance
  • Fully subsidized lunch and snacks at HQ—we eat and share stories together at the “long” table
  • Generous PTO and company‑paid holidays, including one week over the winter break so everyone can recharge together
  • Voluntary pet insurance, Voluntary Life Insurance, Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity
  • Fully subsidized tax advisory services and education to help you understand your equity
  • Commuter benefits, including a up to $150 monthly commuter benefit
  • Lively, modern combined office and lab space where we rapidly iterate through design, build, and test phases
  • Fully equipped onsite gym and showers at headquarters
Pay Notice:

Compensation for this position will be set based on the candidate’s experience level and location. The posted salary band is applicable only to the San Francisco Bay Area and is subject to change.

This role requires on‑site presence at our Brisbane, CA headquarters, for close collaboration with the other teams.
