Position InformationJob Title: Electrical EngineerDepartment: EngineeringReports To: Electrical Engineering Manager Purpose of the RoleThe primary purpose of the Electrical Engineer is to provide electrical engineering services,including power system design and industrial control system design, for packaged generator sets,biogas digesters, and renewable natural gas upgrading systems. Key Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Create and update design drawings, including electrical one-lines, three-lines, control diagrams, and panel layouts.
  2. Develop IO lists specifying devices to be connected to a PLC's inputs and outputs
  3. Generate detailed BOMs (Bills of Materials) for electrical damage.
  4. Prepare cost estimates for electrical systems and design.
  5. Author operations manuals, proposals, and design documentation.
  6. Implement safety features such as grounding systems, overcurrent protection devices, and
  7. electrical isolation procedures to mitigate hazards.
  8. Interpret and apply information from mechanical and electrical drawings to designs.
  9. Adhere to company and client engineering standards and procedures.
  10. Ensures electrical designs comply with local and national electrical codes and standards.
  11. Communication with contractors and customers using clear verbal and written communication.
Required CompetenciesEducation: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (ABET Accreditation) or relevant experienceExperience:
  1. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  2. Experience designing Industrial Control Panels (UL508A compliance)
  3. Familiarity with the National Electric Code for designing electrical systems
  4. Experience using AutoCAD Electrical for design projects.
Skills:
  1. Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and design methodologies.
  2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical details to peers and customers.
  3. Advanced problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  4. Focus and attention to detail for complex electrical systems.
