Job description

Connect Staffing is hiring an Assistant Electrical Engineer for a solar inverter and energy storage manufacturer in Houston, TX. In this role, you will support a Service Engineering team by analyzing PV (photovoltaic) product performance data, auditing warranty reports, and coordinating root cause analysis and rework resolution with headquarters and vendor teams. This is a hybrid position with both remote and in-office work in Houston.
Pay:$60,000-$75,000/year
Location: Houston, TX 20% travel required.
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

Responsibilities
  • Generate ad hoc data analysis and quality trend reports across PV (photovoltaic) products - tracking performance by project site and product type.
  • Audit warranty service engineering reports for each project site to identify potential quality issues.
  • Coordinate root cause analysis (RCA) and rework resolution by pushing HQ and vendor teams toward timely corrective action.
  • Issue quality alerts to internal teams and vendors, including resolution instructions, to prevent component-related downtime.
  • Prepare summaries of active rework projects, with priority tracking for critical reworks and key customer accounts.
  • Review and update RCA documentation and CoE (Center of Excellence) case status in collaboration with HQ.

Minimum Requirements
  • 1+ year of experience in an engineering, quality, or technical analytics role.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and produce clear written reports.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with PV (photovoltaic) inverters, energy storage systems, or solar power plant operations.
  • Familiarity with warranty management processes, root cause analysis (RCA) methodologies, or quality engineering workflows.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Excel, Python, SQL, or similar.
  • Experience working with international engineering teams or cross-functional HQ coordination.
  • Mandarin language skills a strong plus for communication with HQ teams.
  • Exposure to field service operations, CoE (Center of Excellence) processes, or parts/inventory planning.
