Acutronic is looking for an Electrical Engineer III to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA. Our ideal candidate will have at least seven years of experience in a related engineering environment, designing power electronic components and experience in the in the field of servo systems and/or motion control. We are looking for a customer-focused individual who thrives in a creative, fast-paced environment, and has a keen ability to problem-solve.
Electrical Engineer III
Your Roles/Responsibilities:
  • Analyses customer requirements for:
    • 1 axis electric motions systems and refurbishments
    • 2 axis electric motions systems - standard and custom
    • 3 axis electric motions systems and refurbishments
    • Complex, multi axis Hardware-In-the-Loop electric and hydraulic motion systems
  • Performs electrical systems design and engineering to assure conformance to contractual requirements for:
    • 1 axis electric motions systems and refurbishments
    • 2 axis electric motions systems - standard and custom
    • 3 axis electric motions systems and refurbishments
    • Complex, multi axis Hardware-In-the-Loop electric and hydraulic motion systems
  • Creates wiring schematics, engineer bills of material, technical manuals, and acceptance test procedures for:
    • 1 axis electric motions systems and refurbishments
    • 2 axis electric motions systems - standard and custom
    • 3 axis electric motions systems and refurbishments
    • Complex, multi axis Hardware-In-the-Loop electric and hydraulic motion systems
  • Assists fellow engineers, technicians, purchasing, and wire shop associates with questions and problems relating to products and/or systems within area of expertise
  • Performs drawing reviews to assist other engineers
  • Performs Acceptance Test Procedure reviews
  • Performs electrical system design for complex hydraulic system refurbishments
  • Performs duties with minimal supervision of the Electrical Engineering Team Lead or Head of Engineering

Your Profile/Qualifications/Skills:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university
  • At least seven years of relevant experience
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Limited travel required (under 20% of total time)
