As ABB Motion transitions to a division-led operating model (go-live January 2026), the Local Division Manager is a senior business leader responsible for driving sales, marketing, and portfolio management in the local market. This role holds full P&L accountability for revenue growth, EBITA realization, and cost structure efficiency.

The position requires delivering ambitious growth targets through new customer acquisition and increased wallet share, while ensuring strong resource productivity. The Local Division Manager will execute the division's customer-centric strategy, foster cross-divisional collaboration when commercially relevant, and build a high-performing organization aligned with ABB's values, ultimately enhancing ABB's ability to serve customers with greater scale, flexibility, and agility.

The work model for the role is: Remote in the United States.

Your role and responsibilities:

Develop and Execute Commercial Strategy: Creates, implements, and drives relentless execution of the division's commercial strategy locally, aligning industry segment strategies with go-to-market models and operational execution paths.

Lead Sales Team & Drive Sales Excellence: Builds and directs a high-performing commercial team to achieve sales objectives and KPIs through standardized marketing/sales processes, pricing strategy, major account management, and effective sales incentive programs.

Optimize Financial Performance: Owns P&L accountability, driving revenue growth through new customer acquisition and wallet share expansion while optimizing cost structure, productivity, profitability, and capital efficiency across all commercial operations.

Inform Strategy with Market Intelligence: Monitors market trends, analyzes competitor and industry dynamics, forecasts demand (5Q rolling forecasts), and provides actionable insights to support effective business planning and strategic positioning.

Manage Portfolio & P&L: Implements the portfolio/product strategy and commercial approach aligned with division/business line objectives, evaluates market opportunities, owns full P&L accountability, and executes portfolio projects locally to meet targets for schedule, quality, financial results, and customer satisfaction. Ensures trade compliance and proper management of international trade rules (tariffs, taxes, Incoterms) to maintain P&L performance.

Qualifications for the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Electrical Engineering or related field, and 12+ years of experience in general management / commercial and portfolio management.

  • 7+ years of experience in leading and developing cross functional teams (Procurement, sales, sales support and more).

  • Product and Portfolio Knowledge of Low Voltage IEC Motors and their applications in a variety of industries and markets.

  • Strong financial management experience, with previous P&L ownership.

  • Experience with Change management, and building high performing teams.

  • Track record of year over year sales growth with meeting/exceeding aggressive sales growth.

  • This role involves 50% domestic travel and requires a valid US Driver's license.

  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $142,500 and $228,000 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
