ABOUT THE TEAM
Anduril's Facilities team is seeking a Facilities Electrical Engineer to join our team. The Facilities Operations team is responsible for maintaining and optimizing the physical infrastructure to ensure operational continuity, safety, and efficiency. This role reports through the facilities leadership and focuses on the resilience, capacity, and reliability of our high-voltage and medium-voltage electrical distribution systems that power our advanced manufacturing and testing operations.
ABOUT THE JOB
We are looking for a Facilities Electrical Engineer to support our rapidly growing Arsenal 1 campus. In this role, you will be the subject matter expert for the campus electrical infrastructure, spanning from high-voltage utility transmission lines and substations down to facility-level distribution. You will bridge the gap between design and operations by supporting new construction projects, leading electrical commissioning efforts, and managing robust preventive maintenance programs.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Oversee the safe operation, reliability, and maintenance of the campus electrical distribution system, including high-voltage substations, medium-voltage switchgear, transformers, and emergency backup systems (generators/UPS).
  • Develop, implement, and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs for critical electrical assets (e.g., infrared thermography, transformer oil analysis, relay testing, and breaker maintenance).
  • Provide engineering and commissioning support for campus construction projects, ensuring new electrical installations meet utility requirements, local codes, and design intent.
  • Lead commissioning, startup, and acceptance testing of critical electrical equipment.
  • Conduct power quality investigations, electrical load studies, and capacity planning to support changing manufacturing and testing operations.
  • Serve as the campus champion for electrical safety, managing the NFPA 70E compliance program, arc flash study updates, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Collaborate with the local utility provider on high-voltage transmission, grid reliability, and planned outages/maintenance.
  • Manage external electrical contractors, testing agencies, and engineering consultants during maintenance outages and capital improvement projects.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical engineering, facilities engineering, or power systems commissioning.
  • Experience working with medium-voltage or high-voltage electrical distribution and substation equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical maintenance practices, testing standards (NETA), and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Familiarity with the construction lifecycle, including design review, submittals, RFIs, and on-site construction support.
  • Demonstrated experience commissioning critical electrical systems (switchgear, generators, UPS, ATS).
  • Thorough knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety), and OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical single-line diagrams, schematic drawings, and protective relay settings.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate complex electrical shutdowns with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Ability and willingness to handle emergencies and planned maintenance outages outside of normal working hours.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Experience utilizing power analysis software (e.g., SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower) for short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies.
  • Experience in high-availability environments such as data centers, semiconductor fabs, aerospace facilities, or heavy industrial plants.
  • Experience supporting secure spaces (SCIFs/SAPFs).
