This position oversees the assembly activities related to low-voltage and medium voltage electrical distribution equipment production, ensuring that manufacturing processes run smoothly, efficiently, and in compliance with safety regulations. In This Role You Will:

  • Lead, train, and mentor a team of fabricators, welders, and technicians.
  • Assign tasks, set performance expectations, and monitor progress.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
  • Supervise the fabrication of components and assemblies according to blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ensure that materials, tools, and equipment are properly maintained and available.
  • Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the fabrication process, ensuring minimal disruption to production schedules.
  • Ensure all fabricated components meet the required quality standards and tolerances.
  • Implement and enforce quality control procedures to reduce defects and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental laws, and industry standards.
  • Lead safety meetings and promote a culture of safety within the team.
  • Identify potential safety hazards and implement corrective measures to mitigate risk.
  • Monitor team performance to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of fabrication tasks.
  • Adjust workflow to meet changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
  • Suggest improvements to tooling, equipment, and processes for better efficiency and quality.
  • Stay updated on new fabrication technologies and techniques to implement within the department.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification in a related field (such as Welding, Fabrication, or Manufacturing Technology) is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proven experience with punching, forming, welding, and other fabrication techniques and equipment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of low-voltage and medium voltage electrical distribution equipment.
  • Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems for production management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Solid understanding of safety regulations and procedures applicable to fabrication and assembly manufacturing environments.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Oracle NetSuite ERP experience.
  • Certification in production management or related field.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
