Service Manager - Electrical Department is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of an electrical service team, ensuring that all projects, installations, and repairs are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Serving as a bridge between executive leadership and operational field teams, managing everything from technical oversight to customer relations in fast pace setting.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the final technical authority in the field, diagnosing and resolving complex system issues and making real-time decisions during energization.
  • Support high-risk, high-visibility projects and provide technical leadership during critical field operations.
  • Team Leadership: Hires, trains, and manages a team of electricians and technicians. Conduct performance reviews and lead weekly safety or toolbox meetings to ensure high work standards.
  • Project & Operations Oversight: Schedules and assigns daily service calls or work orders. Monitor the progress of field installations to ensure meeting technical specifications and established deadlines.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Acts as the primary point of contact for clients, handling inquiries, providing technical support, and resolving complaints.
  • Administrative Tasks: Maintains accurate records of work orders, job status, and completed projects while tracking departmental key performance indicators (KPIs).

Prior Experience & Requirements:
  • 5 Years experience managing an Electrical Service Department with (10) or more electricians and service technicians in a commercial electrical service, repair and maintenance.
  • 5 years experience with Service Management and Dispatch software, GPS vehicle monitoring and Office 360, Microsoft Office & Outlook.
  • 3 Years experience working with Property Management companies in Service and Maintenance of common area electrical equipment of condominiums, mid-rise and high-rise condominium buildings, office parks and shopping centers.
  • Master Electrical license(s) in Maryland, Virginia and/or Washington DC.
  • Team player with decisive leadership skills!
  • Broad understanding of all areas of a typical electrical service business and love working with professional customers in a fast track environment.
  • Experience and knowledge of estimating and quick turnaround of small service or repair work of $1000.00 to 150,000.00.
  • Applicant must be familiar with a variety of the electrical troubling shooting and repair concepts, including the technical ability to understand and interpret Electrical Codes, Life Safety Codes, NFPA, Uniform Building Codes, basic motor controls and Lighting Systems.
  • Experience and knowledge of electrical applications, permits, electrical maintenance goals, Facility Maintenance & PM standards.,
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer
  • Position is based at PSEC Branch Office located in Alexandria, Virginia
