Job description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented 2nd & 3rd Shift CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate, set up, and program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines—including lathes and milling machines—to produce precision components. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will ensure high-quality production that meets strict specifications. This position offers an energetic environment where your skills in machining, tooling, and measurement instruments will drive efficiency and excellence across our manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC lathes and milling machines using Fanuc controls or similar systems to produce complex parts with precision.
  • Program CNC machines utilizing CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and CNC programming skills to optimize machining processes.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings to ensure parts meet design specifications.
  • Set up tooling, fixtures, and workpieces accurately using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Conduct routine machine maintenance, tool changes, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maintain optimal performance.
  • Utilize electrical discharge machining (EDM) techniques when required for complex or hard materials.
  • Follow lean manufacturing principles to improve workflow efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance safety standards.
  • Assist with assembly processes when necessary, ensuring parts are correctly fitted and finished according to specifications.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of production runs, quality checks, and machine settings for traceability.

Experience

  • Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC mills and CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages like G-code and M-code; familiarity with CAM software such as SolidWorks or CAD programs is a plus.
  • Skilled in blueprint reading, GD&T interpretation, and mechanical measurements using precision tools like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
  • Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding processes, welding techniques, and power tools is advantageous.
  • Ability to troubleshoot machine issues quickly while maintaining safety standards; experience with Fanuc controls is preferred.
  • Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machining parameters; understanding of lean manufacturing practices is desirable.
  • Knowledge of tooling setup, fixture installation, and the use of hand tools for machining adjustments.
  • Ability to work effectively on 2nd or 3rd shifts in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail. Join our team as a 2nd & 3rd Shift CNC Machinist if you’re passionate about precision manufacturing!
