Job description

Electrical Engineer
We are looking for an Electrical Engineer for our Westbury facility. In this role you will develop system integration concepts and realize them including commissioning, performing acceptance tests and trainings at customer sites. You also maintain a high level of expertise in production and maintenance support of these system types on-site at customers or remotely.
Your Responsibilities:
  • Independent creation of project studies and concepts for customer orders including cost estimation
  • Development and Implementation of concept and system topologies for turnkey systems
  • Implementation of developed concepts considering applicable standards and regulations
  • Developing and creating Hardware Design Specification (HDS) to maintain internal high standards
  • Integration and Commissioning of thermal spray systems
  • Budget responsibility within a project or service intervention
  • Support and training of EQ organization in thermal spray systems (e.g. systems integration, installation and commissioning, ...) on the job at customers and within our Oerlikon sites (e.g. Westbury, ...)
  • On-site and remote support of customer (e.g. trouble shooting, ...)
  • Support of Sales, Technical Sales for Sales and After-Sales
  • Documentation Support:
    • Support in the creation of technical manuals for internal and external use
    • Creating parts lists and other technical documents such as tables, diagrams, drawings and descriptions for operating, service and production instructions
  • Participation in project studies and development projects

Your Outputs:
  • Concepts, System Topologies, HDS, Schematics, technical documents (e.g. tables diagrams, instructions, ...)
  • System compliance with the quality regulations and instructions in the area of responsibility
  • Solves system-specific problem solutions in-house or at customers on site
  • Further development of system components, standards, integration and automation
  • Further development of existing products Leadership & Influence
  • Compliance with deadlines and costs
  • Ensuring the implementation of standards Interfaces, Collaboration, Stakeholders
  • Coordination with the design and software team
  • Communication with external partners and educational institutions

Your Profile:
  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic)
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a project/systems engineer preferred
  • At least 3 years of working experience in the industrial machines manufacturing, including interfaces with Process / Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation Control Automation works related Projects
  • Occasional travel possible up to 10%
  • Able to read and interpret drawings, specifications and other engineering related documentation
  • Proficient in electrical CAD systems (eplan/COMOS), Microsoft Office and related applications
  • Have a good command of English, and report writing.
  • Very good communication and collaboration skills

For individuals assigned, hired to work or working remotely in/out of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Nevada, Washington State, or New York, Oerlikon is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position, which is $90,000 to $110,000 per year. Some positions within Oerlikon may also offer eligibility to participate in a discretionary incentive program. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for the role will be based on a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, internal equity, job location, work experience, education, training, certifications, licenses, etc. Therefore, as compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each individual, it is likely that not all applicants will be hired at the highest end of the listed compensation range. Our total compensation package goes beyond base compensation and it will include a competitive benefits package starting with 2 weeks paid time off accrued on a monthly basis, 12 holidays, 48 hours personal/sick time (exception for NY where we follow State law,) medical, dental, vision, 401K, holidays, pet insurance and tuition reimbursement all effective day one of hire.
