Summary of Role:

As a Principal Engineer of Tapeout and Mask Organization, the candidate will work with our global team of engineers and product owners on business transformation projects that drive process optimizations and product modernization. This individual will be exposed to complex Electronic Design Automation (EDA) flows, cloud technology transformations, and industry best practices.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Enable scalable, Electronic Design Automation (EDA) functions in a Cloud environment
  • Continuous improvement of secure on-premises automation flows
  • Continuously learn and explore new technologies and trends in tapeout interactive tool/app development, including AI/ML technologies and AWS services
  • Create data visualizations, tools to view EDA tool outputs to bring process improvements and documentation
  • Data analytics on Tapeout processing key performance indicators (KPIs), to drive optimized performance of Cloud Tapeout execution
  • Support customer Tapeouts, Mask manufacturing enablement, Fab Wafer start enablement
  • Developing business process improvement tools in cloud utilizing out-of-the-box services

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs
  • Other duties as assigned by manager / supervisor

Required Qualifications:

  • Education - BS + 4-5 years of relevant experience degree in electrical, computer engineering, physics, and/or related field from an accredited degree program OR MS degree + 2-4 years relevant experience OR PhD + 1-2 years relevant experience
  • Prior experience in Tapeout operations highly preferred
  • Semiconductor device design and validation knowledge
  • Experience developing Electronic Design Automation (EDA) flows and automation
  • Proficient within Linux/Unix system environments
  • Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases to process tapeout / EDA data
  • Language Fluency - English (both Written & Verbal)
  • Architecting and developing process improvement automations and KPI metrics using tools such as Python / On-Prem / various cloud platforms
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, planning & organizational skills
  • Project management skills, i.e. the ability to innovate and execute solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity
  • Applicant must be a US person (lawful permanent resident and/or green card holder)
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an export control license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education - Master of Science degree in electrical, computer engineering, physics, or related field coupled with 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience or certification in Structured Problem Solving (8D) / FMEA
  • Experience integrating AI agents and tools into business processes
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity tools and best practices; experience with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) enablement
  • Knowledge of project life cycles, exposure to project managements tools like Azure Dev-Ops, JIRA
  • Experience with integration pipeline tools such as Bamboo, GIT, Jenkins etc.
  • Must be proactive, with a desire to continuously improve system solutions, process documentation, and operating procedures

Expected Salary Range

$85,000.00 - $146,000.00

The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
