Position Summary

The Junior Electrical Engineer Sustainment supports the lifecycle maintenance, reliability, and performance optimization of electrical systems and equipment. This role focuses on troubleshooting, data analysis, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure systems remain operational, safe, and cost-effective throughout their lifecycle.ย 


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support rapid resolution of technical problems impacting operationsย 
  • Participate in GEMBA issues on released productsย 
  • Maintain and support systems/products throughout their operational lifecycleย 
  • Address aging systems, obsolescence, and end-of-life challengesย 
  • Manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Orders (ECOs)ย 
  • Implement design updates, retrofits, and upgradesย 
  • Identify and manage component obsolescence risksย 
  • Work with suppliers to find alternate parts or technologiesย 
  • Update maintenance procedures and technical manualsย 
  • Support field service teams with technical expertiseย 
  • Improve maintainability and reduce downtimeย 
  • Work with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operations teamsย 
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues in lab, production, or field environmentsย 
  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation, technical reports, and test recordsย 
  • Support engineering change requests (ECRs) and engineering change orders (ECOs)ย 
  • Reduce lifecycle costs through design and process improvementย 
  • Support warranty and service-related investigationsย 
  • Ensure systems comply with regulatory, industry, and safety standardsย 
  • Support audits, certifications, and quality reviewsย

Requirements

Required

  • Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related fieldย 
  • 1+ years' experience in an electronics design and manufacturing environmentย 
  • Exposure to CAD or ECAD toolsย 
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, circuits, and electronic componentsย 
  • Familiarity with electrical schematics and testing equipment (e.g., multimeter, oscilloscope)ย 
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a deep understanding of process optimization techniques.ย 
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a plus.ย 
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in team settings and with all levels in the organizationย 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.ย 
  • Excellent project management skillsย 
  • Experience working within an ERP system ย 
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and identify priorities based on inputsย 
  • Ability to read an Engineering BOMย 
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills in Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.
