About the Opportunity:

Saratech is seeking a mid-level Electrical CAD Engineer to support the digitization, documentation, and configuration management of electrical test equipment and related aerospace/defense hardware. This role will focus on converting existing electrical test equipment, engineering documentation, Bills of Materials, and physical hardware into fully configured Siemens NX assemblies and Teamcenter-managed product structures.

The successful candidate will create detailed 3D models, electrical routing assemblies, engineering drawings, and BOMs using commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) electrical components sourced from vendor catalogs and existing documentation. This position requires close collaboration with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and configuration management teams to ensure accurate digital representations of fielded and legacy equipment.

Salary Range:

$75 - $80 per hour

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain detailed 3D CAD models and assemblies in Siemens NX for electrical test equipment and supporting hardware.
  • Convert existing electrical equipment, legacy documentation, and Bills of Materials into NX assemblies and Teamcenter product structures.
  • Create electrical routing models, cable assemblies, connector interfaces, and harness representations within NX.
  • Generate engineering drawings, assembly drawings, and documentation packages in accordance with company standards.
  • Integrate commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) electrical components including connectors, backshells, relays, switches, terminal blocks, power supplies, sensors, and cable hardware.
  • Support release, revision, and configuration control processes within Teamcenter.
  • Verify CAD models and product structures against existing hardware, engineering documentation, and BOMs.
  • Support engineering change implementation and documentation updates.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical discipline.
  • 3–7 years of experience using Siemens NX and Teamcenter in an engineering environment.
  • Experience creating and maintaining engineering drawings and assemblies.
  • Experience developing and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Experience modeling electrical hardware, cable assemblies, connectors, and electromechanical systems.
  • Working knowledge of electrical test equipment and electrical hardware documentation.
  • Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) and configuration management processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience reverse engineering or digitizing legacy equipment.
  • Experience with NX Routing and electrical routing tools.
  • Experience supporting engineering release processes and change management workflows within Teamcenter.
  • Knowledge of ASME Y14.100, Y14.5, and aerospace drawing standards.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, integration, or test organizations.
