We are seeking a dependable and detail oriented Electrical Associate to join our production support team. The Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and components on boats, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency. The electricians have experience in marine electrical systems, wiring, and troubleshooting, along with a strong focus on quality and safety standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems on boats, including lighting, power distribution, navigation systems, and electrical panels.
  • Wire and connect electrical components, ensuring proper connections, grounding, and insulation.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, including power failures, faulty wiring, and equipment malfunctions.
  • Read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications to ensure proper installation and repairs.
  • Test electrical systems for functionality, safety, and compliance with marine standards.
  • Perform regular maintenance and inspection of electrical systems, including batteries, chargers, alternators, and other key components.
  • Ensure all electrical systems meet industry safety standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the production team to integrate electrical systems into new builds or repairs.

Requirements
  • Proven experience as a boat electrician or in a similar role within the marine or electrical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems, wiring, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with electrical systems used in boats.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations in the marine industry.
  • Certification in marine electrical systems or electrical engineering.
  • Familiarity with marine electronics, including navigation systems, GPS, radar, and communication devices.
  • Experience with solar power systems, inverters, and other renewable energy solutions for boats.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to lift and carry electrical equipment and materials up to 25 Pounds, including batteries, wiring, and tools.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various positions for extended periods.
  • Comfort working in tight spaces, such as inside engine rooms or under decks, and at heights, when necessary.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for working with small electrical components, wiring, and tools.
  • Good vision to read electrical diagrams, inspect wiring, and ensure proper connections.
  • Comfort working in tight spaces or at heights.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm, with occasional weekend assignments.
This role is based in a boat manufacturing or repair facility. The work environment may involve exposure to chemicals and fumes, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
