SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for providing daily ongoing support of customer equipment, inspecting and installing assemblies and components, inspecting equipment and conducting research on site in Austin, Texas in order to solve problems quickly and report on project status. FSE’s will ensure that everything works smoothly and engineering designs are being followed. This position is responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction by anticipating and meeting the customer’s operational needs and commitments.

  • Provide timely, professional, and courteous field service and technical product support to key customers.
  • Provide support with component research and troubleshooting, repair, installation, preventative maintenance, and coordinating the ordering and installation of spare parts.
  • Perform equipment installation based on manufacturing specification.
  • Provide technical support for manufacturing and engineering by discussing details of component/sub-system specifications with customers during onsite visits or by telephone/video conferences.
  • Assist in writing, reviewing, and updating installation, operation, and maintenance manuals for systems in the customer install base.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Requires 5-7 years experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of semiconductor process equipment. Experience with plasma etching and plasma deposition systems preferred.
  • Require Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical). Associate level or higher or equivalent work experience.
  • Requires 5-7 years client facing experience with strong problem solving and have experience working independently as needed
  • Extensive cleaner and assembly experience for Applied Materials
  • Team player with excellent people/relationship skills, mechanical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong writing and communication skills

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with plasma etching and plasma deposition systems preferred.
