Manufacturing Engineer - Electrical (Associate or Mid-Level)

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Space, Intelligence & Weapons Systems (SIWS) is seeking an Associate or Mid-Level Manufacturing Engineer (Level 2 or 3) specializing in Electrical manufacturing to support production activities in El Segundo, CA.

This role focuses on developing, implementing, and sustaining hands-on manufacturing processes for PCB assemblies (PCBA's) and unit builds, ensuring quality, producibility, and cost-effective production. The position requires hands-on, on-site engagement.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop, qualify, and optimize manufacturing processes for Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) production and electronic box or unit build.

  • Produce and maintain manufacturing documentation: process flows, work instructions, assembly guides, routings, tooling specifications, and process control plans

  • Lead process validations, first-article inspections, failure investigations, root-cause analyses, corrective actions, and continuous improvement efforts

  • Interface with design engineering, quality, procurement, test engineering, and production teams to resolve manufacturability and producibility issues

  • Define and specify manufacturing tooling, jigs, fixtures, and test equipment; support procurement and supplier integration

  • Support production ramps, capacity planning, and troubleshooting on the shop floor to ensure schedule and quality targets are met

  • Implement and sustain Lean and Six Sigma practices to improve throughput, reduce waste, and enhance product quality

  • Ensure compliance with Boeing manufacturing standards, industry standards, and applicable regulatory requirements

  • Mentor and train production personnel on processes, work instructions, and best practices

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • 2+ years' experience with Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design or manufacturing

  • 2+ years' experience defining process flows, process diagrams, and process documentation

  • Proficient with CAD/ECAD basics (CREO, SolidWorks, or similar), manufacturing data systems (MES/PLM), and Microsoft Office tools

  • Familiarity with soldering, component bonding, coating of boards, forming leads, harness assembly, and electronic test methodologies

  • Willing to travel up to 25% of the time domestically

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing environments

  • Familiarity with IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, J-STD-001), MIL-STD, and DFx/ DFMA for electronics

  • Certification in Lean, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt), or Manufacturing Engineering certifications

  • Experience with test fixture design, automated test equipment (ATE), and environmental/EMC test support

Associate (Level 2) Summary pay range: $90,950 - $123,050

Mid-Level (Level 3) Summary pay range: $111,350 - $150,650
