Job description

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is a leading power engineering consultant firm that provides engineering, system planning and studies, technical consultation, project management, surveying, environmental planning, commissioning/testing and construction services to electric utilities, energy developers and industrials throughout the U.S. Our experience includes system voltages from 4.16 kV through 765 kV.
ECI has an opening for an entry-level assistant project manager in Madison, WI. This position requires a basic understanding of contracts, change orders, invoicing, project work scopes, purchase orders and general engineering documents (Company specific On-The-Job-Training for these items will be provided). The successful applicant will provide assistance and technical support to program managers, project managers, lead engineers and Subject Matter Experts in packaging deliverables and reports as well as aid in the development of forms, templates, standards and procedures. Assisting the project manager to coordinate and manage the project from inception to completion by carrying out daily operation tasks in an effective and timely manner. Supporting communications between office and field staff by tracking and directly reporting project status updates to project managers. Coordinating and executing daily administrative tasks: organizing, filing, and maintaining all current project documents, entering information into and managing the digital project databases, assisting in ensuring compliance with necessary project specifications and maintain project budgets along with FTE forecast data.
MinimumRequirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, business, management or related field, with a minimum of 2 years' of experience in technical writing, document management, and administrative experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organization and planning skills; ability to work in a team environment; commitment to quality and accuracy; and a willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules. Prior experience as a project accountant, project controls specialist, project coordinator, or an executive assistant a plus. The successful applicant may be subject to client-mandated drug and background checking. Occasional travel/driving is required; therefore, the successful applicant will be subject to ECI's auto insurance carrier requirements. Applicants must not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B visa status) now or in the future.
