Position Summary

Summary:

The EMT Trainee is responsible for learning and developing the technical skills required in the Electrical Mechanical trade. The EMT is responsible for learning and developing the skills required to install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and improve equipment. Under the guidance of experienced technicians, the trainee will complete hands-on training and assigned projects.

  • Receives and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals and technical drawings

  • Assist with troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment

  • Learn troubleshooting repair techniques

  • Support installation, setup and adjustment of manufacturing equipment.

  • Safely use hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment

  • Complete work orders and maintenance documentation accurately

  • Support other Technician's as required.

  • Keeps work area neat, clean, organized, and under control.

  • Is responsible for quality and safety of own work and compliance of all company procedures and policies.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Required: High school education and enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program.

Preferred: High school education and enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program with at least 6 months manufacturing experience.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Must provide own hand tools and toolbox. This position requires the individual to handle and transport machine parts or equipment weighing up to approximately fifty pounds

This position requires enrollment in a registered apprenticeship program with Central Community College.
