Join a pioneering automotive innovator, partnered with Aquent Talent, that is revolutionizing the all-electric vehicle market. This is an unparalleled opportunity to make a tangible impact on the future of transportation by shaping the electrical architecture of cutting-edge vehicles from the ground up. You will be instrumental in designing and launching critical electrical components that power the next generation of sustainable mobility.
Ignite Innovation as an Electrical Components Design Engineer
Are you ready to drive the future of electric vehicles? We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Components Design Engineer to take ownership of critical electrical distribution system (EDS) components. In this dynamic role, you will be the design responsible engineer, guiding components from initial concept through virtual development, rigorous testing, sign-off, and manufacturing launch. Your expertise will directly influence the performance, reliability, and safety of our groundbreaking all-electric vehicles.
What You'll Do:
  • Lead the end-to-end design of all EDS components, including shields, troughs, connectors, terminals, and power distribution units, for next-generation all-electric vehicles.
* Collaborate with purchasing and finance teams to develop precise technical specifications, supporting the quoting and sourcing processes for components under your purview.
* Establish and maintain a standardized library of core EDS components, ensuring alignment with global engineering standards for use in wiring and power distribution systems.
* Partner with key engineering teams and external suppliers to define and release all EDS and power distribution components.
* Contribute to a diverse and collaborative team culture, fostering continuous learning and professional growth.
* Execute comprehensive virtual and physical verification testing, including critical field testing, to validate component performance.
* Guarantee that all designs strictly adhere to safety standards and relevant government regulations.
* Proactively analyze consumer experience insights to propose and implement system improvements.
* Provide essential input and expertise for the design of production facilities for advanced vehicles.
* Efficiently manage supplier resources to ensure component designs meet stringent cost, timing, and quality objectives.
What You'll Bring:
We are looking for individuals with integrity, curiosity, and resourcefulness, who embody a positive attitude and a growth mindset. You should thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, embracing change and demonstrating flexibility. A collaborative approach to achieving ambitious goals is essential.
Must-Have Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
* 5+ years of hands-on experience in electrical wire harness and/or power distribution components design and release, with relevant automotive experience spanning all phases of product development (design, test, and launch).
* Demonstrated strong technical skills and expertise in wire harness component design and release, utilizing a six-sigma approach for engineering design and problem-solving.
* Familiarity with or direct experience in Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE).
* Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across all organizational levels.
