Shift: M-F 8am - 5pm & Saturdays 8-12 pm
$25-35/hour (more or less based on experience)

At Bio Town Ag, Inc. you have the opportunity to join a team that looks beyond the traditional farming aspects of just agriculture and livestock. Our operation includes an anaerobic digester that recycles animal waste and other organic by-products to produce methane gas. This gas is used to power 6 engine generators with the capability of producing up to 6 megawatts of electricity, most of which goes back into the electric grid. We are one of them most unique waste recycling operations in the United States.
Our climate-controlled maintenance shop currently has an opening for a Mechanic. This is a day shift position with an 8am - 5pm shift Monday - Friday and 8am - 12pm on Saturday. We are seeking candidates that are self-motivated, have critical thinking skills for problem solving, and can work in a team environment. The primary responsibility will be to maintain on highway tractors and trailers along with construction and ag equipment used on the farm.
Position Overview:
The Mechanic will be trained to carry out preventive and corrective maintenance repairs. This includes but is not limited to semis, semi-trailers, truck tire repair, Caterpillar construction equipment, and various ag equipment to prevent or minimize production downtime.
Requirements
Outline of Duties:
The candidate will be a part of an atmosphere of teamwork, but will also be accountable for personal performance of completing work and time management. The candidate will be trained to input their own work orders along with completing work orders that are assigned from the maintenance system so that equipment is repaired in a timely manner.
  • Maintain maintenance shop cleanliness standards.
  • Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance and repairs of heavy equipment.
  • Perform minor and major engine overhauls.
  • Perform DOT inspections for On-Highway trucks and trailers.
  • Inform on parts needed and used.
  • Ability to diagnose and carry out major repairs.
  • Perform truck tire changes as needed on equipment.
  • Candidate will have Associate's degree in technical field or 5 years work experience as a mechanic.
  • Individual will have a positive attitude, good work ethic, and can work well in a team setting or autonomously.
  • Must be able to train other mechanics as business needs grow.
  • Candidate must be self-motivated and performance driven.
  • Good critical thinking skills for troubleshooting problems along with good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Can read and understand technical prints for equipment.
  • May be required to lift, push o pull up to 50 lbs. unassisted and 75 lbs. assisted.
  • Requires stepping up and down ability.
  • This position will be on 1st shift, and will periodically require overtime.
  • Must have the ability to use work order system on cell phone.
