We are seeking a Commissioning Manager to lead and manage all on-site commissioning activities for critical data center infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for overseeing commissioning teams, coordinating with project stakeholders, ensuring quality and safety standards are met, and delivering fully validated electrical, mechanical, and controls systems within hyperscale and mission-critical data center environments.

General Job Duties:
  • Lead all on-site commissioning activities from pre-functional testing through integrated systems testing and final project turnover.
  • Direct and coordinate Site Leads, Commissioning Engineers, and Engineering Technicians.
  • Serve as the primary on-site commissioning representative for clients, contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Maintain commissioning schedules, milestones, resource planning, and risk mitigation activities.
  • Provide technical leadership during startup, checkout, functional testing, and integrated systems testing (IST).
  • Oversee commissioning efforts for electrical systems including switchgear, UPS systems, generators, ATS equipment, PDUs, and RPPs.
  • Manage commissioning activities for mechanical systems including chillers, cooling plants, pumps, cooling towers, CRAH/CRAC units, and HVAC controls.
  • Support commissioning and validation of Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), PLC controls, and integrated networked systems.
  • Ensure proper execution and documentation of point-to-point verification, functional testing, deficiency tracking, and corrective actions.
  • Promote and enforce safety compliance including OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and arc flash safety requirements.
  • Review and approve commissioning documentation, test scripts, reports, turnover packages, and client deliverables.
  • Mentor and develop commissioning engineers and technicians through technical guidance and field leadership.
  • Provide regular updates regarding commissioning progress, schedule status, resource needs, and project risks.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Needed:
  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Automation, or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of commissioning, controls, automation, or related field experience.
  • Direct experience commissioning data center infrastructure systems is required.
  • Experience leading commissioning teams, technical crews, or field personnel in complex project environments.
  • Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems, HVAC and mechanical systems, PLC controls, BMS, and EPMS platforms.
  • Proven ability to coordinate with contractors, clients, project managers, and commissioning stakeholders.
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to travel and work on-site at active data center construction projects.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on hyperscale data center projects.
  • Familiarity with CxAlloy, Facility Grid, or similar commissioning management platforms.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Experience with Rockwell, Schneider Electric, Siemens, or similar automation and control platforms.
