Job description

Quality Assurance & EHS Manager

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead site-level quality and EHS initiatives at its Long Branch, NJ facility. This role is responsible for administering the Quality Management System, driving continuous improvement, reducing customer and warranty issues, and fostering a strong quality and safety culture across the plant.

In addition to quality leadership responsibilities, this position includes Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) oversight and collaboration with site leadership to drive compliance, risk reduction, and zero-incident culture.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Leadership

  • Lead the site quality function and manage direct reports to achieve plant quality objectives
  • Drive a strong quality culture in partnership with the leadership team
  • Lead timely investigation and resolution of customer concerns
  • Reduce internal and external defect rates through structured quality initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, customer-specific, and regulatory requirements
  • Lead cross-functional teams to support new product introduction and launch readiness
  • Review daily in-process quality metrics to set priorities and actions
  • Develop and deploy internal product validation and process consistency methods
  • Promote 5S, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement practices
  • Support and lead internal and external audits, including third-party audits
  • EHS Responsibilities

    • Lead and support risk assessments to identify critical EHS hazards
    • Partner with leadership to define EHS targets, objectives, and performance indicators
    • Drive a zero-incident safety culture across the site
    • Assign and support EHS/MESH element champions
    • Facilitate annual self-assessments and periodic corporate assessments
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations
    • Manage EHS data using established systems and reporting tools
    • Ensure EHS training requirements are defined, tracked, and completed
    • Maintain EHS operational controls, preventive maintenance programs, and corrective actions
    • Lead monthly EHS performance reviews and reporting
    Required Qualifications
    • Bachelors degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
    • Minimum of 3 years combined experience in manufacturing and/or quality roles
    • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality system
    • Experience managing or supporting internal and external quality audits
    • Ability to work on-site; candidates must live within 50 miles of Long Branch, NJ
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
    • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience
    • ASQ certifications (Six Sigma Black Belt, Certified Quality Engineer, etc.)
    • Prior EHS responsibilities within a manufacturing environment
