Job Overview
The EHS Regional Director will be responsible for providing comprehensive EHS leadership to all departments and employees. This position is responsible for the compliance and administration of a comprehensive environmental, health and safety program including but not limited to; systems, policies, procedures, safety campaigns and programs to eliminate, prevent or control hazards, or at-risk acts or behaviors. The individual will create a culture of safety as a value.
Roles & Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Plan and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations
  • Develop and standardize with best practices to effective training and communication of EHS topics to employee and managers
  • Ensure the timely development and effective implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and programs to include JHA and individual safety program review annually
  • Primary leadership role in communicating to the Director of EHS and VP of EHS regarding health and safety issues as well as the overall assessment of EHS performance and compliance of divisions
  • Conduct compliance audits and inspections as assigned
  • Develop specific audit findings and verifies required follow-up is completed
  • Ensure that the Safety, Health and environment impact of new processes and equipment is assessed, and appropriate objectives are formulated
  • Keep current on EHS regulations, accepted standards and reporting requirements, and evaluates their effect on operations, while participating in periodic audits to assure compliance with internal and external policy, and regulations, through the creation and maintenance of internal assessments, inspections for increased self-governance
  • Implement, audit, and continually develop the focus site program to provide measured results to the Direct or EHS and VP EHS and Risk, and drive continued improvement within the program
  • Develop, evaluate, and maintain the knowledge center as part of the 4Insite software program
  • Additional tasks as assigned as business needs may develop
  • Regular travel will be required

Qualification

Education and/ or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business Management or a related field from a four-year college or university with 5-8 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
May be required to have a valid driver's license.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; performance evaluations; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Ensure employees are properly trained on tasks and safety requirements.
