EHR Training Specialist

Location: Baltimore, MD - Onsite Duration: 12 Months

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory.

We are seeking an experienced EHR Training Specialist to support a large-scale Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementation in Baltimore, MD. The consultant will play a key role in end-user training, workflow adoption, deployment readiness, and go-live support.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience training healthcare users on EHR/EMR systems and be comfortable working with clinical, operational, administrative, and financial stakeholders. This position requires strong presentation and facilitation skills and the ability to translate complex system functionality into clear, role-based instruction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete required Train-the-Trainer certification and develop proficiency in assigned EHR applications and workflows.
  • Deliver and support instructor-led, classroom, and virtual EHR training.
  • Train users on role-based workflows, navigation, business processes, and system functionality.
  • Provide hands-on guidance during exercises, simulations, and practice sessions.
  • Answer user questions and reinforce approved workflows and best practices.
  • Support classroom logistics, attendance tracking, scheduling, and training coordination.
  • Support end-user readiness throughout multiple implementation phases.
  • Coach clinical, operational, administrative, and financial users on effective system utilization.
  • Identify knowledge and adoption gaps and recommend additional training or reinforcement.
  • Promote adherence to standardized workflows and implementation procedures.
  • Assist with documentation and readiness activities impacting operational and financial processes.
  • Provide at-the-elbow support during EHR go-live.
  • Assist users with real-time workflow execution, navigation, and system functionality.
  • Identify training deficiencies, workflow challenges, and adoption issues.
  • Escalate complex application or functional issues to appropriate SMEs and implementation teams.
  • Document recurring issues and recommend additional training or remediation.
  • Partner with EHR implementation teams, trainers, SMEs, project leadership, and business stakeholders.
  • Participate in readiness meetings, training reviews, and deployment planning.
  • Follow established curriculum, training methodologies, and delivery standards.
  • Support multiple implementation waves and adjust to changing schedules and project priorities.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of end-user training experience within healthcare, health IT, EHR/EMR, or enterprise software environments.
  • Hands-on experience supporting EHR, EMR, or healthcare information systems.
  • Experience delivering classroom, virtual, or instructor-led training.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, coaching, and classroom-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical users.
  • Understanding of adult learning principles and techniques.
  • Strong customer service, problem-solving, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with clinical and business stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory.
  • Ability to work onsite in Baltimore, MD and travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with large-scale enterprise EHR implementations.
  • Previous EHR go-live and at-the-elbow support experience.
  • Experience supporting behavioral health, public health, community health, or healthcare delivery organizations.
  • Experience with role-based EHR workflow training.
  • Understanding of healthcare revenue cycle, financial, or administrative workflows.
  • Experience training clinical, operational, administrative, and financial users.
  • ATD, CPTD, CTT+, or similar training certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and virtual training platforms.
