We are searching for an SMT Technician to perform complex troubleshooting, repair, modification, and calibration of electronic, electrical, and electromechanical equipment and test systems of the PR12 Fuji Line.
This position is based at our Santa Isabel, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.
What You Will Do
  • Select appropriate tools and procedures, programs test equipment and ensure efficient workflow while adhering to all EH&S guidelines.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on electrical manufacturing infrastructure, including routine electrical systems and equipment within the facility.
  • Calibrate and test electrical building infrastructure, control systems, and related equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  • Cut, thread, bend, couple, and secure electrical conduit and wiring according to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions, inspect circuits and wiring for proper shielding and grounding, and test equipment for safety and efficiency.
  • Identify and diagnose system failures, replacing defective components as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date maintenance and repair logs to support compliance and operational continuity.
  • Review and optimize SMT equipment and process parameters to ensure optimal performance, including FUJI SMT platforms.
  • Set, verify, and adjust required machine parameters; performs first-piece validation to ensure run integrity.
  • Inspect and maintain SMT stencils, ensuring proper condition, cleanliness, and integrity between production runs.
  • Verify solder paste application and performs adjustments as needed to maintain print quality.
  • Identify mechanical issues and supports root-cause investigations for defects such as machine scrap, misaligned or missing components, and coplanarity issues.
  • Participate in process and quality troubleshooting activities, including Real-Time Problem Resolution, with minimal supervision.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting of SMT equipment, including solder paste printers, pick & place machines, SPI, and AOI systems.
  • Interpret component and assembly specification drawings to identify potential issues and ensure proper component handling.
  • Analyze defect data from Touch-Up, AOI, and SPI to provide proactive feedback and drive continuous improvement.
  • Recommend and implement programming improvements for AOI, SPI, and Pick & Place systems to optimize production efficiency and quality.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English and Spanish (verbal and written)
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
