Special Education Teachers provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they can access the curriculum and achieve academic and social success. This role plays a vital part in fostering an inclusive environment by implementing IEPs and collaborating with school teams and families.
Position Details:

  • Start Date: September 1, 2026
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, full-time
  • Location: In Person, up to 35 hours weekly
  • School Year: 2026/2027


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on student assessments and needs.
  • Deliver specialized instruction aligned with state standards and student learning goals.
  • Modify curriculum, assignments, and assessments to support diverse learners.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student success.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Implement behavior management strategies and intervention plans as needed.
  • Create a structured, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid Massachusetts DESE license as a Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities or Teacher of Students with Severe Disabilities (or eligibility to obtain licensure).
    • No emegergency licenses can be accepted.
  • Experience working with students with a range of learning and behavioral needs.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive educational environment.
