Position Overview

This is an opportunity for an architect who wants to lead projects that directly shape schools, campuses, and communities across Texas. As a Project Manager โ€“ Education Architectural Design, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of Kโ€“12 and educational facility projects from early programming through construction administration. Youโ€™ll serve as both a project leader and trusted client advisor, guiding multidisciplinary teams while ensuring projects meet design, budget, schedule, and community-impact goals.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead Kโ€“12 and educational architecture projects through all phases of development, from programming and conceptual design through construction administration
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective verbal, written, and graphic communication
  • Manage and coordinate internal architectural teams and external consultants to ensure integrated project delivery
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, staffing, and technical quality standards
  • Guide design development efforts while maintaining alignment with educational programming, operational goals, and project vision
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and ownership groups throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, educational facility standards, and project requirements
  • Support construction administration activities including RFIs, submittals, site observations, and technical coordination
  • Mentor junior architects and design staff while supporting team collaboration and professional development
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously across varying stages of development and delivery

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of architectural experience, including at least 4 years focused on Kโ€“12 educational facility design
  • Education: Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s Degree in Architecture from an accredited program
  • Licensure: Texas Registered Architect preferred; strong candidates pursuing licensure or with transferable experience will also be considered
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of educational facility planning, building systems coordination, project delivery, and construction documentation
  • Software: Proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, Newforma, and Microsoft Office Suite preferred
  • Project Management: Experience managing project budgets, schedules, staffing, and consultant coordination
  • Communication: Strong client-facing communication and leadership skills
