Teaching Interventionist - Fay Honey Knopp Memorial School:
Fay Honey Knopp Memorial School is seeking motivated staff that are passionate about embracing each student's individuality and strengths, while supporting their academic success in a friendly, therapeutic, and encouraging environment. The sub interventionist position supports teachers with individual and small group instruction
Deliver a differentiated curriculum that supports varied learning styles. Develop and implement plans to meet transition goals, while working creatively and collaboratively as part of a team.
Teaching Interventionists have the unique opportunity to collaborate with master classroom teachers, special educators, and clinicians to develop skills in differentiating instruction, restorative practices, and trauma-transformative education. This is a unique opportunity for early career educators to refine and build skills as classroom teachers.
The Fay Honey Knopp School is a State Board of Education approved independent school. It provides a therapeutic educational program offering unique learning opportunities to inspire personal change and well-being for adolescent males, ages 12-17 years, grades 7-12. The students enrolled in Fay Honey Kopp are clients of a residential treatment program that assists youth with trauma histories.
Responsibilities:
  • Teach academic and social skills curriculum to identified students
  • Substitute teacher for all classrooms
  • Curriculum development, daily lesson planning
  • Collaborate with educational & clinical staff to assist in coordinating the education and mental health treatment for students
  • Model and implement behavior techniques to maintain and shape behavior

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • VT Teaching License, grades 7 - 12 or License eligible
  • 1-2 years in the Education field (preferred)
  • Experience with adolescents with learning challenges, ASD, Complex Trauma and other mental health challenges.
  • Capable of being compassionately assertive and thriving within a dynamic environment that utilizes Trauma Informed instructional strategies.
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving history

Structure:
  • Full-time (37.5 hours)
  • AFSCME (dues will apply)
  • Annual salary starting at $46,530.34
