GENERAL DUTIES
The Classified Substitute is responsible for filling in for an absent employee. This role changes depending on the substitute position, see attached job descriptions. During the application process, you will be able to indicate which position(s) you are interested in subbing in.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - ALL POSITIONS
  1. High school diploma or its equivalent
  2. Proficient oral and written communication skills in English
  3. Proficient in the use of computer and Internet based applications, including but not limited to email and systems applications.
  4. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - COOK
  1. Hold a valid Food Handlers certification
  2. One year of experience in food service
  3. Experience in the use and maintenance of commercial kitchen equipment
  4. Knowledge of ingredients, supplies and methods used in cooking
  5. Knowledge of sanitation standards and safety regulations for chemical use in the kitchen

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANT
  1. Must possess an Associate's degree, preferably including coursework in working with children in an educational setting.
  2. In lieu of Item A above, must possess both of the following:
    1. High school diploma or GED, and
    2. Passing score on a qualifying state or local academic assessment that measures knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics. (In order to qualify, this assessment must meet the requirements of the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act. Information about qualifying assessments is available in the Human Resource office.)
  3. Must possess an understanding of child development principles and practices.
  4. Must be able to communicate effectively with other employees and students using tact, courtesy and good judgment.

  7. Maintain required licenses/certifications and successfully complete required trainings for the position
  8. Utilize the District's electronic systems and applications related to the position
  9. Dress in a professional and appropriate manner for the assignment and work setting
  10. Demonstrate professionalism when working and communicating verbally and nonverbally with students, parents, and school personnel from diverse cultures and/or backgrounds
  11. Cultivate and model a respectful working and learning environment
