Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and adaptable Substitute Special Education Assistants to support students in the absence of the regular assistant. This role requires patience, flexibility, and a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Classroom Support - Assist the teacher in implementing instructional activities and accommodations for students with special needs.
- Support Student Independence - Encourage students to engage in learning activities while fostering independence.
- Assist with Behavioral and Social Needs - Support students with behavior management plans and social-emotional development.
- Physical Assistance (If Needed) - Help students with mobility, personal care, or adaptive equipment as required.
- Ensure a Safe and Inclusive Environment - Maintain a positive and structured classroom setting.
- Collaboration & Communication - Work closely with teachers, therapists, and staff to ensure student success.
On-call, as needed, when regular staff members are absent or to fill a temporary vacancy. Hours vary by day, location and assignment.
