Job description

Make a meaningful impact on the lives of students by supporting their unique educational needs in a dynamic school setting. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, conducting comprehensive educational assessments and participating in a preschool evaluation team. Flexibility is provided with the potential to serve students in grades K-12, based on district assignments.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current and active Louisiana Department of Education Educational Diagnostician Certification
  • Experience conducting educational assessments and developing recommendations for diverse student populations
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and school staff
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience with preschool evaluations is highly valued
  • Capable of adhering to time-sensitive credentialing including successful completion of district background screening and fingerprinting

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct educational assessments of students (with an initial focus on preschool-age) in accordance with district policies and state regulations
  • Interpret assessment data and prepare comprehensive evaluation reports
  • Participate in eligibility determination meetings and collaborate with Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams
  • Provide expert recommendations for interventions and services based on student needs
  • Communicate clearly with families and staff regarding assessment results and next steps
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records in compliance with legal and ethical standards

This is a contract-based role working approximately 29 hours per week during the academic year. VOCO options are available, providing increased flexibility for candidates interested in virtual work. The start date is August 18, 2026, with an assignment planned through late May 2027.
