Job description

Make a meaningful impact as an experienced Special Education professional supporting students, faculty, and school programs in a dynamic educational environment. This full-time contract opportunity draws on your advanced expertise as a Special Education Teacher and School Support Specialist, offering the chance to coordinate special education services and foster student success.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Special Education Teacher (SPED)
  • Current Oregon Special Education (OR SPED) certification
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal special education regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, support, and collaborate with teachers, administrative staff, and support teams
  • Experience coordinating educational and behavioral services for students with diverse needs
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the management and implementation of special education programs across the school
  • Coordinate resources and services, including student health and behavioral support
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to teachers regarding best practices in special education
  • Facilitate administrative and clerical tasks related to special education documentation and compliance
  • Serve as a liaison between students, families, faculty, and outside agencies to ensure each student's needs are fully met
  • Support the creation and adaptation of individualized educational plans (IEPs) and monitor progress
