Job description

Program Development Specialist VISTA
This project will alleviate poverty by expanding the reach of the Community Healing and Mental Health Project's (CHAMP's) programs by identifying funders, writing grants, and documenting standardized policies and procedures. The community capacity-building work will improve mental health outcomes, reduce behavior-related school suspensions and dropout rates, curb gun violence, and lower teen incarceration rates in vulnerable populations. The lasting effects of this program will empower communities to overcome challenges by supporting individual healing and community resilience.
Member Duties : The VISTA member will develop policies and procedures while identifying the program's financial needs. This will be done through activities like researching and compiling the demographics for communities being served by CHAMP, researching funding sources that align with CHAMP's mission, writing grants, and creating grant guidelines and policies. The VISTA member will also develop operating policies and procedures for the programs offered by CHAMP per the strategic objectives of the organization. This includes activities such as observing the different aspects of the organization, researching the programs offered, and devising evaluation strategies to monitor the programs' performance, effectiveness, and efficiency.
