Educational Associate - Special Education - Substitute

Location: District Wide ย |ย Status: Non-Exempt |ย Schedule: Flexible ย | Days: Student contact days only


Position Summary:

With the focus to support and advance the Edina Public Schools' mission, vision, and core values, the Educational Associate for Special Education assists teachers and supports students with academic, social, motor, behavioral, health, life skills, and other functional tasks. Educational Associates for Special Education work one-on-one and with small groups of students in the areas of instructional reinforcement and student support and learning assistance.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree or at least two years of post-secondary education (a minimum of 60 semester credits), or a passing score on the ParaPro assessment
  • Experience working withย students
  • Experience working with diverse student populations
  • Strong communication skills


Compensation & Benefits:

Salary Range: The hourly wage for this position is $23.00 per hour.

  • This is a temporary/casual position. Eligible employees will participate in the state's largest pension program, the Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA).
  • Leave benefits will be applied in accordance with Minnesota law.
