The Role: After-school Program Support Associate

The After-school Program Support Associate is versatile and proactive and helps ensure a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for our students. Your day kicks off by welcoming students into a safe, supportive space after school. You'll help them settle in, supervise activities, and offer a hand with homework when needed. Whether you're leading a fun group activity, lending a listening ear to a student who needs support, or making sure everyone follows program rules, you're creating a positive environment where kids can thrive. You'll also stay in touch with parents and teachers, keep accurate attendance and behavior records, and make each afternoon count for the students in your care.

This is meaningful, flexible work that makes a direct impact on students and families in your community.

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday

  • School day shift: 1:00pm-6:00pm

Payrate

  • $26.50/hr
Essential Functions include, but are not limited to:
  • Design and lead engaging group activities, ranging from structured physical education and team-building games to creative arts and STEM projects. You will be responsible for keeping students motivated, ensuring high participation, and adapting activities to suit different age groups and energy levels.
  • Provide dedicated homework assistance and small-group tutoring. You will help students understand core concepts, practice study skills, and complete assignments, ensuring that the after-school hours are a productive extension of the classroom,
  • Maintain active supervision of students during transitions, snack time, and recreational periods. You will implement positive behavior management strategies to ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment, adhering to all program safety protocols and check-out procedures.
  • Assist with daily operations, including taking attendance, preparing activity materials, and maintaining a clean environment. You will also serve as a point of contact for parents during pick-up, providing brief, professional updates on student progress or behavior.
Must Haves:ย 
  • An individual with aย genuine enthusiasm for working with children and youthย along with alignment to our mission of supporting workers, students, and schools while promoting academic success.
  • At least 48 college credit hours
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plusย 
  • Prior to working with students, you will need to pass a background check, livescan and may need to obtain other necessary testing/clearances. Rest assured, we will guide you through the process!
  • Please note that there is a $8.99 Mandated Reporter Training required for this role that you are responsible for paying.
