At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Merced, CA! About the Role: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Special Education Tutor to provide in-person academic support for a middle school student with diverse learning needs. The tutor will focus on strengthening foundational literacy and math skills, while also supporting learning across core academic subjects.

The ideal candidate has experience working with students with ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, and learning disabilities, and can provide structured, patient, and engaging instruction tailored to the student's learning profile.

Details:

  • Location: Merced, CA 95341
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday between 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM, 2-3 hours per session
  • Subject Focus: Core Subjects (Reading, Writing, Math, with support in Science and Social Studies)
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Rate: $35-$40 (negotiable)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized academic tutoring in reading, writing, and math, with additional support in science and social studies as needed.
  • Focus on foundational literacy skills, including phonics, fluency, and reading comprehension.
  • Support foundational math development, including multiplication and multi-digit addition and subtraction.
  • Implement structured lessons with clear routines, redirection, and positive reinforcement strategies.
  • Use reward systems and engagement strategies to maintain focus and motivation.
  • Maintain a calm and supportive learning environment during moments of dysregulation.
  • Communicate with the student's parent regarding progress and session updates.

Student Learning Profile:

  • Student has an Individualized Education Program (IEP).
  • Currently reading at approximately a 1st-grade level and requires significant literacy support.
  • Math skills are at an early elementary level.
  • May become dysregulated and require structured behavioral support, patience, and redirection.

  • Experience working with Special Education (SPED) students.
