Brief Position Overview
The Exam Proctor will serve as the sole examination proctor for online and hybrid (mixed-mode) courses at the College and will report to the Director of eLearning and Library Services. This position must have exceptional communication and organizational skills and will work closely with faculty and students in addition to Learning Center staff, the Disability Services Office, and eLearning staff. The Exam Proctor will work in collaboration with the Director of eLearning and Library Services to establish Testing Center hours with some evening and weekend duties required.

General Statement
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Administrative Support:
  • Provide assistance to the Testing Center Coordinator for all campus testing seryices,
  • including placement testing, online testing, face-to-face, accommodation testing, professional testing and all other external community testing needs.

2. Collaboration with other Departments:
  • Working closely with Faculty, Student Central Staff, Office of Accessibility and students.
  • Follow directions and requirements that vary per exam.

3. Customer Service:
  • Greet students and test candidates and help with checking them in for appointments.
  • Instruct each student and candidate in the appropriate policies and procedures specific to their exam and answer any questions they may have.

4. Compliance:
  • Guarantees strict compliance with campus and agency regulations regarding secure handling of test site information.
  • Observes the testing lab to ensure compliance and appropriate conduct of testing candidates and materials.

Physical Demands
The Exam Proctor position requires sitting, standing, bending, lifting (up to 501bs), twisting,
reaching, walking, wiping and cleaning of common areas.
Required Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
  • Excellent customer service skills, including demonstrated skills working effectively with the public and a wide range of constituents.
  • Must be able to keep confidential records relating to test material and candidate information.
  • Must be able to become certified and maintain all certifications for multiple test sponsors.
  • Knowledge of basic email and computer skills including Microsoft Office, Windows, Outlook, and basic computer troubleshooting.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, and to use initiative and work with minimal
    supervision.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to multi-task.
  • Must present and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Cannot be a current student of Great Falls College.

  • Ability to learn quickly and be a self-starter.
  • Ability to work alone.
  • Ability to take and follow directions.
  • Previous proctor experience.
  • Previous work in an educational environment.
  • Previous customer service experience.
