Job description

Job Summary:
An Assistant Special Education Teacher, under the direction and supervision of the Directors, will be responsible for the supervision and one-on-one instruction of students with mild disabilities.
Duties/Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
  • Provides supervision and instruction to students with special needs
  • Supervise students with special needs during lunch
  • Provide consistent communication to the Directors regarding students
  • Provide guidance and support to students in a positive manner
  • May be required to teach small groups of students

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Must work well under pressure and have the ability to diffuse highly emotional situations
  • Experience in Special Education is desired but not required
Education/Experience:
  • Earned an Associates Degree OR
  • Earned 48 college credit hours OR
  • Successfully completing a basic academic skills (parapro) exam within the first week of hire
