Job description

ABOUT US
HyperionDev is one of the largest providers of accelerated tech education in EMEA and one of the oldest providers of 'coding bootcamps' in the world. We work with top universities such as Imperial College London, The London School of Economics, The University of Edinburgh, and Stellenbosch University to deliver structured technical courses and bootcamps that accelerate people into fulfilling tech careers. We have been recognised as one of the top education technology scaleups in the world and gained the financial backing of Meta (previously Facebook), which recognised us as the most socially impactful startup operating in Africa, where we initially started our work.
We are dedicated to closing the global tech skills gap, and we achieve this by integrating tech education with human mentorship and expert code review powered by a workforce in Southern Africa, which lowers the cost of an accessible education in technology. This model has been successful, allowing us to reach millions of learners a year from over 60 countries. We have also partnered with government bodies such as the UK's Department for Education, who provide scholarships for students to study on our bootcamps and gain employment at companies such as AstraZeneca and the United Kingdom's National Health Service (NHS).
We're backed by nearly 2000 investors, having raised the largest crowdfunding round of funding for an edtech company in history. As a primarily bootstrapped, profitable, and scale-up tech business, join us as we play our part in making the world a more stable, safer, and fair place.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As our Head of Revenue, you'll be responsible for designing, scaling, and continuously improving the commercial engine that powers HyperionDev's growth.
You'll lead the revenue function across our two major commercial verticals: B2C Admissions and B2B Corporate & SETA Learnerships. This includes Regional Admissions Managers across the US, UK, South Africa and Australia, alongside our B2B sales leadership team in South Africa.
But this isn't simply a leadership role.
We're looking for someone who enjoys building. Someone who sees commercial functions as systems that can be measured, improved and scaled. You'll work across Sales, Marketing, Product, Engineering, Finance and Operations to create a commercial organisation that becomes more efficient, more predictable and more effective as we grow.
You'll combine commercial leadership with operational excellence, using data, technology and process design to increase conversion, improve forecasting, strengthen execution and build the infrastructure that enables sustainable revenue growth across multiple international markets.
If you've built high-performing commercial organisations before, enjoy solving complex operational problems and are energised by creating scalable systems rather than simply managing them, we'd love to hear from you.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Build the Commercial Operating System
  • Rather than simply managing existing processes, you'll continually evolve how our commercial organisation operates.
  • You'll design scalable operating rhythms, reporting structures, performance frameworks and commercial processes that allow our teams to execute consistently across every market.
  • You'll identify bottlenecks, remove friction and create systems that enable better decision-making, stronger execution and sustainable growth.

Lead Revenue Across Multiple Markets
  • Own revenue performance across both our B2C Admissions and B2B Corporate & Learnership businesses.
  • Partner with regional leaders to translate commercial strategy into consistent execution, helping each market maximise conversion, productivity and revenue performance.
  • Drive accountability through clear objectives, meaningful KPIs and structured operational reviews.

Scale High-Performing Teams
  • Lead Regional Admissions Managers across the US, UK, South Africa and Australia, together with our Corporate & SETA Sales Lead.
  • Develop leaders rather than simply managing teams.
  • Create the structures, coaching frameworks and operating cadence that enable managers to build high-performing, accountable commercial organisations.
  • Support organisational design, hiring and capability building as HyperionDev continues to grow.

Build Data-Driven Commercial Operations
  • Develop the reporting infrastructure that gives the business real visibility into commercial performance.
  • Own revenue forecasting, funnel analytics and operational reporting across every stage of the customer journey.
  • Use data to identify opportunities for optimisation, improve conversion rates and increase team productivity.
  • Create dashboards and reporting that enable faster, better commercial decisions.

Improve Systems & Commercial Technology
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to improve the internal tools that support our commercial teams.
  • Champion CRM excellence, workflow automation and process improvements that reduce manual effort and improve customer experience.
  • Identify opportunities where technology-including AI and automation-can improve speed, consistency and scalability across the revenue organisation.

Work Across the Business
  • Partner with Marketing to improve lead quality, campaign performance and funnel conversion.
  • Collaborate with Finance on forecasting, budgeting and revenue planning.
  • Work alongside Student Success and Operations to ensure a seamless learner experience from first enquiry through to enrolment.
  • Help create alignment across every function that influences commercial performance.

Requirements
Minimum
  • 5+ years leading commercial, revenue, or sales operations teams.
  • Experience managing managers (e.g., regional heads, team leads).
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in dashboards, CRM reporting, forecasting, and funnel metrics.
  • Proven success in improving conversion, productivity, or commercial performance.
  • Experience with CRM systems and sales operations processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and improve commercial processes at scale.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, high-accountability environment.

Preferred
  • Experience in edtech, workforce development, training, or a scaled services business.
  • Background in product operations, revenue operations, or commercial systems design.
  • Experience working across multiple regions or international teams.
  • Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Looker, PowerBI, Tableau) and SQL or similar.
  • Experience building automation, workflow optimisation, or tech-enabled processes.
  • Track record of running or supporting multi-vertical revenue organisations (B2C + B2B).

Benefits
Equity: As a senior leadership role within the company, you may be eligible for direct ownership in the business through our stock option scheme. The company has been approached for acquisition by a number of billion-dollar leaders in the tech education space and is backed by investors from the US, UK and South Africa, and we want you to directly share in the success of the business.
Hybrid work: We are a hybrid work organisation offering flexibility on your schedule. Remote working options are available for candidates not in proximity to a HyperionDev Campus.
Learn new tech skills: We offer our employees the opportunity to enrol part-time in our Coding Bootcamps.
Join the heart of tech in Africa, Europe and the US: You'll work with the best of the best and rub shoulders with the world leaders in edtech, developer education, and developer assessments. Join one of the most ambitious and highest-performing tech companies in the space, with a management team that draws on their former experience from top tech companies.
Life-changing work: Solve real problems that make education and tech careers accessible to those who need it most: you're allowed to brag about it.
OUR VALUES
We're a people-forward company with a purpose that underlines everything we do. We're obsessed with the potential in people and challenge them to do their best work. We embrace a culture of growth and learning to deliver on our vision and ours is a relentless quest for improvement.
