School Partnerships Manager

Novastar Prep

Great Falls, VA • On-site, Remote

Full-time

Medical, Retirement, PTO

Re-posted 28 days ago

Job description

Novastar Prep delivers high-quality academic support that helps students excel. As we grow, partnerships with schools are our most important channel for reaching the families who need us. We're hiring a School Partnerships Manager to build and own relationships with public and private K-12 schools, districts, and parent and athletic communities - turning those relationships into durable programs that support students through Novastar Prep.
THE ROLE
This is a relationship-driven role for someone who can open doors with school PTAs, PTSAs, counselors, principals, and superintendents, navigate both public-sector procurement and private-school decision-making, athletic organizations, and translate Novastar's services into a clear value proposition for each audience. You'll own the full partnership lifecycle - from first conversation to signed agreement to long-term growth.
You'll start with focused territories. Rather than spreading thin, you'll begin by going deep in defined markets - building real relationships and proving the model - with the opportunity to expand your scope and earning potential as you demonstrate results.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Build the pipeline. Identify and pursue partnership opportunities across public schools, private and independent schools, charter networks, and districts in your territory. Keep an organized pipeline and forecast accurately.
  • Win over the right stakeholders. Build credibility with the people who decide - principals, superintendents, counselors, curriculum and business officers, admissions and advancement staff at private schools, PTA and PTSA leadership, and Athletic Directors - tailoring your approach to each, since a public district and an independent school make decisions differently.
  • Close partnerships. Move opportunities from first meeting to signed agreement, navigating the longer, multi-stakeholder cycles common in education, including procurement, legal review, and board or committee approval where required.
  • Speak the funding language. Understand how schools fund services (e.g. IDEA, state and district set-asides, grant cycles) and align proposals to available budgets and timelines.
  • Show up and represent. Represent Novastar Prep at school events, PTA and PTSA meetings, athletic events and booster functions, conferences, open houses, and community fairs - occasionally evenings or weekends.
  • Tailor the message. Partner with marketing and program teams to develop presentations, collateral, and messaging built for distinct audiences - administrators, educators, parent groups, and athletic departments - and deliver them compellingly.
  • Track and report. Use a CRM to log activity, monitor engagement and conversion, report pipeline and forecasts, and tie partnership activity back to enrollment.
  • Grow the book. Renew, deepen, and expand existing partnerships, and identify referral and cross-program opportunities within your accounts.

WHAT YOU BRING
Required
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3-5+ years in partnership development, education sales/business development, or school outreach - with a track record of meeting goals or quota.
  • Proven success owning relationships and closing agreements with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent public-speaking and presentation skills; genuinely comfortable in front of administrators, educators, and
  • parents.
  • Strong written communication and the ability to produce polished, audience-specific materials.
  • Highly organized self-starter who can manage many concurrent relationships and deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with CRM and modern digital/sales tools (e.g., HubSpot or Salesforce, video conferencing, LinkedIn).
  • Willingness to travel regionally for school visits and events, with occasional evening/weekend availability.

Preferred
  • Master's degree in education, business, sales, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
  • Direct experience partnering with both public districts and private/independent schools/Home School sector.
  • Familiarity with K-12 funding sources and education procurement.
  • Background in tutoring, edtech, or academic program services.
  • Existing relationships within the target region's school community.
  • Experience using AI tools to research accounts, personalize outreach, and work more efficiently.

WHAT SETS A GREAT CANDIDATE APART
The hardest part of this job isn't enthusiasm - it's navigating two very different sales motions. Public districts involve formal procurement, funding cycles, and committee sign-off; private schools turn on relationships, reputation, and a faster, more personal decision. The people who thrive here are equally comfortable reading an RFP and connecting with a head of school or Athletic Director at an open house - and disciplined enough to keep their pipeline moving without anyone checking in.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
We've structured this role to attract experienced partnership talent, with meaningful, uncapped upside tied to the partnerships and enrollment you generate.
Base Salary: $55,000 - $65,000
Fixed, depending on experience.
On-Target Earnings (OTE): $100,000 - $120,000+
Base + variable at 100% of target, via an uncapped commission plan with accelerators for exceeding target. A detailed compensation plan is available.
  • Fully remote within the U.S.
  • Health insurance contribution, 401(k) / retirement savings plan.
  • Paid time off, paid sick leave, and paid holidays.
