Job description

Wire EDM Programmer/Operator

Program, set up, and operate Wire EDM equipment to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications.

Requirements of the Wire EDM Programmer/Operator

  • Technical/vocational training or 5+ years of relevant machining experience.
  • Experience programming and operating Wire EDM equipment.
  • Ability to create 2- and 4-axis programs using CAD/CAM software.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
  • Strong knowledge of tooling, metals, machining, dies, and forming processes.
  • Strong shop math skills, including algebra and geometry.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities of the Wire EDM Programmer/Operator

  • Read and interpret prints and verify requirements before machining.
  • Program, set up, fixture, and operate Wire EDM equipment.
  • Adjust machine parameters and settings to optimize production.
  • Inspect finished components to ensure quality and dimensional requirements are met.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain necessary supplies and tooling.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and other departments to meet production requirements.
  • Follow ISO/IATF, safety, environmental, and company procedures.
