What is EDM music?

EDM stands for Electronic Dance Music, a broad range of percussive electronic music genres made largely for nightclubs, raves, and festivals. It typically features synthesized beats, catchy melodies, and energetic rhythms designed to get people dancing. Popular EDM subgenres include house, techno, trance, dubstep, and drum and bass. Over the years, EDM has grown into a global phenomenon, influencing mainstream music and culture.

What are common challenges faced by EDM music producers when collaborating with vocalists and other artists?

One common challenge for EDM music producers is aligning creative visions with vocalists and other collaborators, as each contributor may have different musical styles or expectations. Effective communication and flexibility are key to ensuring a seamless workflow and producing a track that satisfies everyone involved. Producers must also manage technical aspects such as integrating vocals with electronic elements and handling remote collaborations, which are frequent in the EDM industry. Building strong professional relationships and setting clear project goals can help overcome these hurdles and lead to successful releases.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an EDM Music Producer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an EDM Music Producer, you need a solid understanding of music theory, sound design, and composition, often backed by experience or formal training in audio production. Mastery of digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Ableton Live or FL Studio, as well as familiarity with synthesizers and mixing software, is crucial. Creativity, adaptability, and effective communication help you stand out when collaborating with artists and responding to trends in the genre. These skills enable you to create innovative tracks, maintain high production quality, and succeed in a competitive music industry.

Job Summary

ARTIST MANAGER — EDM (Melodic Techno) | Results-Driven, High Growth

Meme House LA, Inc

Full-time

Hybrid | Los Angeles, CA, United States

The Artist
EDM (melodic techno) artist and producer with release-ready music and ~300K engaged followers across socials. The foundation is built — ready to scale.

What I need from you
Someone who's been in the industry, knows how it works, and can execute — a manager who takes this career to the next level inside the first 3 months. You run the strategy and make it happen. She makes the music.

You must have:

  • 5+ years minimum managing or developing EDM / electronic artists (melodic techno or techno experience strongly preferred)

  • A real, active network across labels, booking agents, DSP editorial/playlist contacts, promoters, and press

  • A proven track record of actually breaking artists — with results you can show

  • The hunger and motivation to move fast, and the discipline to stay organized doing it

What you'll own:

  • Release strategy and rollout (singles, EPs, label conversations)

  • DSP/playlist pitching and editorial relationships

  • Booking and DJ set opportunities — locally and beyond

  • Brand building — shaping and growing the artist identity into something recognizable

  • Visibility strategy — getting the artist seen, heard, and talked about across the right platforms and rooms

  • Industry networking — actively connecting with labels, agents, promoters, press, and other artists to open doors

  • Press and PR positioning

  • Revenue growth and infrastructure to scale past month 3

First 90 days — what success looks like:

  • Strategy executed, not just pitched

  • Real label, booking, and DSP conversations opened and progressing

  • New industry relationships built and active

  • Brand sharpened and visibility noticeably up

  • Measurable lift in streams, bookings, and positioning

  • Serious inquiries only. Motivated, experienced people who can back it up. Apply with your artist roster, real results/proof, and a short note on how you'd take this career to the next level in 90 days! :)
