Editorial Modeling information

What does a typical photoshoot look like for an editorial model?

A typical editorial modeling photoshoot often involves collaborating with a creative team, including stylists, makeup artists, photographers, and art directors, to bring a specific concept or fashion story to life. Editorial models are expected to interpret mood boards and direction, pose in various outfits, and remain adaptable as set requirements, lighting, or concepts shift throughout the shoot. Shoots can last several hours and may be on location or in a studio, with models often needing to prepare for long standing periods and quick wardrobe changes. Success in these sessions relies on a model's professionalism, ability to convey emotion, and responsiveness to feedback from the team.

How do you get into editorial modeling?

To get into editorial modeling, individuals typically build a strong portfolio showcasing their versatility and work with photographers or agencies. Having good skin, a unique look, and understanding posing techniques can improve chances, and some models pursue professional training or attend open casting calls to gain exposure.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in editorial modeling?

To excel in Editorial Modeling, you need strong posing skills, an understanding of fashion trends, and the ability to take direction, often supported by a professional portfolio and modeling experience. Familiarity with studio lighting, photographic equipment, and digital submission platforms is commonly necessary in this industry. Reliability, punctuality, and confidence in front of the camera are valuable soft skills for standing out as an editorial model. These abilities are crucial for consistently producing compelling editorial images and building a strong reputation with photographers and creative teams.

What is an editorial modeling?

An Editorial Modeling job involves working with brands, magazines, and photographers to create high-fashion, artistic, and storytelling images for publications or campaigns. Editorial models showcase clothing, accessories, or beauty products in a way that aligns with a brand’s creative vision. Unlike commercial modeling, which focuses on selling products directly, editorial modeling emphasizes artistic expression and high-concept storytelling. Models in this field often work with prestigious fashion magazines like Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar. Strong runway presence, unique looks, and the ability to convey emotion through poses are key skills for success in editorial modeling.

Job description

PR Operations Manager

Location:
Remote, USA/EST time zone

Zen Media is the go-to B2B marketing and PR agency helping enterprise software, healthcare technology, professional services, and manufacturing brands achieve measurable growth and industry leadership. By combining strategic content, earned media, and social amplification, we help our clients influence discerning buyers, shorten sales cycles, and drive ROI. Our work has been featured in leading publications such as Forbes, Fast Company, Ad Age, and The Wall Street Journal, and we have consistently delivered double-digit growth and increased market share for our clients.

We are looking for an operationally strong profile to support and manage the execution of our proprietary systems including our client-facing platform across multiple product lines such as AI-optimized content programs, structured distribution, AEO (answer engine optimization), and reputation management, while also supporting white-labeled solutions delivered to partner agencies.

This role is execution-focused, requiring you to manage workflows end-to-end, coordinate teams, work directly with clients, and ensure delivery, messaging accuracy, brand protection, and compliance are consistently maintained across all outputs rather than focusing on traditional PR pitching.

Strong use of Claude, Claude Code, Openclaw and AI Automation is a must!

What You'll Do

  • Own and manage end-to-end workflows across multiple product lines, including AI-optimized content programs, structured wire distribution, AI SEO, and reputation management.
  • Operate and coordinate delivery through proprietary systems, including our client-facing platform, while supporting white-labeled solutions for partner agencies.
  • Manage cross-functional teams and ensure all deliverables are executed on time, aligned with client expectations, and meet quality standards.
  • Work directly with clients, maintaining clear communication, managing expectations, and ensuring smooth execution across all active projects.
  • Oversee content and deliverables to ensure brand messaging, editorial quality, and compliance standards are consistently met.
  • Apply PR fundamentals including messaging, tone, and brand protection while focusing on operational execution rather than media pitching.
  • Track workflows, identify bottlenecks, and continuously optimize processes to improve speed, efficiency, and output quality.
  • Operate effectively in a fast-paced, startup environment where priorities shift frequently, product lines evolve, and multiple client deliveries run in parallel.
  • Take ownership in ambiguous situations, adapt quickly without a fixed playbook, and ensure delivery stays on track despite changing requirements.

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of experience in an agency environment, with strong operational awareness and the ability to manage multiple workflows and priorities simultaneously.
  • Operationally sharp, detail-oriented, and able to own execution end-to-end without constant direction.
  • Genuine curiosity about how AI is transforming PR, content, and brand visibility, you don't need to be an expert, but you should actively think about how AI models discover and recommend brands.
  • Comfortable working across evolving product lines and adapting quickly as priorities shift in real time.
  • Strong understanding of PR fundamentals, including messaging, editorial nuance, and brand protection.
  • Not limited to traditional media relations but this role requires a broader, systems and operations mindset.

What We Value at Zen Media

  • Commitment to Excellence: Precision, efficiency, and delivering top-tier work.
  • Problem-Solving Orientation: We don't stop at "no", we find solutions.
  • Innovative Mindset: Always thinking bigger and smarter to drive growth.
  • Team-Centric Attitude: "Zero drama" culture built on collaboration and trust.
  • Growth Minded: Continuous learning, feedback, and improvement.
  • Purpose-Driven: We empower eCommerce and B2B brands to scale through innovation.

Why Join Zen Media

  • 100% remote role
  • Competitive base salary paid in USD
  • Growth opportunities within a rapidly expanding company.
  • Access to an AI-powered tech stack
  • A culture built on excellence, integrity, and innovation.

Ready to Grow with Us?

If you thrive in fast-moving, high-ownership environments and don't need a predefined playbook, you'll do well here. We move quickly, and expectations are high.

We build and operate proprietary systems and multiple AI-driven product lines where the quality and placement of output matter for what AI models trust and cite, not just traditional PR outcomes.
